About This Opportunity
Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential technology consulting organization in their search for a Principal Software Engineer. This is a 100% remote position open to candidates across the United States.
Our client is an established firm delivering cloud, AI, data, and enterprise solutions. They're seeking a technical leader with deep expertise in distributed systems and a proven track record of driving architectural decisions at enterprise scale.
Responsibilities
- Design and architect distributed, high-scale systems for production environments
- Lead cross-team technical initiatives spanning multiple business units
- Drive architectural decision-making and establish engineering standards across the organization
- Mentor senior engineers and actively shape engineering culture and practices
- Optimize system performance, reliability, and cost efficiency at scale
- Guide multi-year transformation programs and technical roadmaps
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Proven expertise designing distributed, high-scale production systems
- Advanced proficiency in Java, Go, C++, or similar backend languages
- Deep understanding of data modeling, system optimization, and performance tuning
- Strong expertise in reliability engineering and distributed architectures
- Demonstrated leadership in enterprise-scale architectural decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Track record of mentoring senior engineers and influencing engineering culture
Preferred Qualifications:
- Public technical contributions (papers, conference talks, open source leadership)
- Experience driving multi-year transformation programs
- Familiarity with FinOps and large-scale cost optimization
- Exposure to regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, government)
- Advanced degree or equivalent industry recognition
