Director of Go-to-Market Engineering

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential SaaS organization in their search for a Director of Go-to-Market Engineering based in London. This is a newly created leadership role responsible for building and owning the technical infrastructure that powers an 800-person revenue organization serving thousands of customers globally.

You will define and execute the GTM engineering strategy end-to-end: architecting the tooling stack, building automation workflows in production, and leading a small senior team across Europe and North America. This is a true player-coach position where you'll spend significant time hands-on in Clay, orchestration platforms, and agentic workflows while guiding commercial strategy with Sales leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the GTM engineering architecture including CRM, enrichment, signal platforms, sequencing tools, orchestration layers, and data infrastructure
• Define the technology roadmap in partnership with Revenue Operations and Sales leadership, making strategic decisions on tooling adoption, consolidation, and retirement
• Design and build production-grade automation in Clay: complex tables, waterfall enrichment, AI columns, webhooks, and API integrations
• Own the orchestration logic that determines workflow triggers, routing, and criteria across the revenue organization
• Build agentic workflows using modern LLM tooling to automate research, qualification, summarization, and data entry
• Deliver automation projects across SDR (account prospecting, enrichment, scoring, distribution), Account Executive (CRM autofill, meeting prep, opportunity hygiene), and Account Management (risk signals, whitespace analysis) functions
• Translate commercial problems into technical solutions and communicate technical outcomes in terms revenue leaders recognize
• Lead and develop a distributed team of senior GTM engineers, establishing clear ownership, review processes, and technical standards
• Establish version control, documentation, testing, and rollback standards for all GTM engineering work

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• Deep background in Revenue Operations, GTM Engineering, Sales Systems, Growth Engineering, or adjacent technical commercial functions within B2B SaaS
• Proven track record building GTM systems at scale that hundreds of quota-carrying sellers depended on in production
• Experience as both an individual contributor builder and a people leader

Technical Requirements:

• Production-level Clay expertise including complex table design, waterfall enrichment, webhook integrations, and AI column logic
• Deep Salesforce fluency covering data model, integration patterns, and platform constraints
• Working proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, SQL, SOQL, or TypeScript
• Architecture experience building for scale, monitoring, and recovery beyond proof-of-concept
• Real depth in multiple layers of the modern GTM stack: enrichment platforms, signal and intent tools, sequencing systems, orchestration platforms, data infrastructure, and LLM/agent tooling

Commercial Instinct:

• Track record measuring success by commercial metrics and revenue impact, not just deployment
• Credibility to scope projects with Sales VPs and determine when automation is the wrong solution
• Understanding of the full revenue funnel: TAM definition, ICP scoring, pipeline generation, conversion optimization, expansion, and underlying unit economics

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience establishing a GTM engineering function at a high-growth SaaS company above $100M ARR
• Track record taking automation from pilot to global production including managing challenges at scale
• Multi-region GTM experience across EMEA and North America

Pay

Compensation details will be discussed during the screening process and are competitive for a Director-level GTM Engineering role in London.
