Software Engineer I

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization that powers digital payment experiences for leading global platforms. Our client operates across multiple continents and is building next-generation payment technologies that process billions of transactions annually. We're seeking a Software Engineer I to join their Paris office and contribute to products that enhance acceptance rates, reduce processing costs, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in the Paris office.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product management within a large engineering community
• Design and develop loosely coupled, scalable systems using microservices architecture and industry best practices
• Write clean, maintainable, extendable, and testable code on high-impact systems
• Build, own, and operate systems to the highest levels of resilience and service quality
• Stay current with and implement the latest technologies, sharing knowledge across the team
• Mentor junior team members and support their technical development
• Lead specific projects critical to business needs, managing priorities, deadlines, and deliverables

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Proficiency in C#.NET, Java, or Go with strong software development principles in backend or full stack environments
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Experience working in agile environments and delivering high-quality code within tight deadlines
• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to work independently and collaboratively
• AI proficiency or curiosity, with eagerness to leverage emerging technology to enhance productivity
• Payments or financial knowledge is a plus but not required
