Head of GenAI Platform

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential visual technology company in Paris that is seeking a Head of GenAI Platform to lead the strategy and technical direction of their generative AI infrastructure. This role combines deep technical grounding with organizational leadership, working at the intersection of model orchestration, evaluation frameworks, agentic workflows, and foundation model training.

Our client processes billions of images annually and serves both small businesses and major enterprises. This is a highly strategic position where you'll partner with senior leadership to shape how AI is built, deployed, and scaled across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Define the long-term vision and technical strategy for the GenAI Platform, including model orchestration, evaluation, agentic workflows, and foundation model training
• Partner with Infrastructure teams on inference infrastructure, model serving, and reliability to ensure scalability across billions of requests
• Collaborate with Research to rapidly bring new models into production environments
• Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team of ML Engineers, Software Engineers, and Researchers
• Build evaluation frameworks that measure model quality, cost, and latency consistently across the platform
• Create an environment where technical ideas move from research to production in days rather than months
• Work with Product, Engineering, and Executive leadership to ensure platform investments accelerate product innovation

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone with strong technical grounding and proven leadership experience. You should have been a hands-on ML or research practitioner at some point in your career, with the ability to lead credible technical conversations.

Required qualifications:

• Significant experience leading Machine Learning or AI organizations within product-focused companies
• Background starting as a hands-on ML engineer or researcher before transitioning to leadership
• Experience building and operating AI platforms including model orchestration, evaluation pipelines, or agent frameworks
• Strong technical expertise across Generative AI, Computer Vision, or Foundation Models
• Track record of taking emerging technologies from research into production systems serving millions of users
• Experience growing high-performing engineering and research teams through hiring, coaching, and organizational design
• Technical depth sufficient to contribute meaningfully to architecture conversations outside core areas
• Strong product instincts and ability to balance long-term technical investments against immediate impact
• Excellent communication skills and experience partnering with Product, Engineering, and Executive stakeholders
• Ideally some research experience to credibly lead the function

Success metrics (12-18 months):

• Establish clear long-term strategy for the AI platform
• Build infrastructure that significantly reduces time to ship new AI capabilities
• Enable research teams to move models into production rapidly and reliably
• Improve platform performance, reliability, and infrastructure efficiency at scale
• Build and retain a world-class team
• Create consistent evaluation frameworks for model quality, cost, and latency

Pay

Compensation details will be discussed during the screening process and are competitive for senior AI leadership roles in Paris.
