Senior Manager, Fund Administration (Accounting)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential private markets technology firm in their search for a Senior Manager, Fund Administration (Accounting). Our client operates at significant scale in the alternative investments space, providing integrated solutions to general partners across private equity and real estate. This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing team while shaping the delivery of fund administration services in a rapidly growing environment.

This position can be based remotely across Canada or the USA, with optional office presence available in select cities.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic decisions regarding team buildout, operational policies, and procedures for fund administration delivery
• Develop and improve fund administration workflows, applying best practices and process efficiencies
• Identify product development opportunities and provide technical feedback to internal development teams
• Hire, train, and manage a team of fund accountants at various levels
• Interface directly with clients to deliver an outstanding service experience
• Serve as technical accounting expert and advisor on significant business and accounting decisions
• Review and perform accounting, analytical, and financial reporting duties ensuring accurate client and investor activity reporting
• Review investor allocations used to generate investor statements, waterfall calculations, capital calls and distributions in accordance with Limited Partnership Agreements
• Oversee annual audits including review of audit reports, schedules, disclosures, and assist with PBC lists and tax returns
• Research and provide guidance on the impact of recent accounting developments

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of private equity fund accounting experience with a fund administrator, working on fund-level accounting and reporting including complex fund structures and consolidations
• Proven experience managing and coaching high-performing teams
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline
• Deep understanding of complex accounting transactions, private equity investment structures, and reporting requirements
• Solid knowledge of waterfall calculations, performance metrics (IRRs), distributions, and capital call calculations
• Comfort with ambiguity within a high-growth, fast-paced environment
• Passion for technology and desire to use it to streamline operations and improve user experience
• Strategic thinking with ability to master both details and big picture
• Excellent client service and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Experience with IFRS is a plus but not required
