People Operations & Workplace Experience Specialist, France

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a People Operations & Workplace Experience Specialist for their Paris office. This hybrid role combines critical HR operations with hands-on workplace culture building during an exciting growth phase in the EMEA region.

You'll serve as the on-the-ground partner ensuring smooth daily operations while helping shape an engaging office environment. This position offers the rare opportunity to own high-impact processes from end to end while identifying automation and improvement opportunities as the organization scales.

Location: Paris, France (hybrid, 4 days per week in office)

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring exceptional employee experiences
• Serve as primary point of contact for HR inquiries and manage ticketing system with timely, quality responses
• Maintain accurate HRIS and payroll data including EOR platforms, conduct audits, and manage data changes
• Support payroll processes including commissions and bonuses by auditing inputs and resolving discrepancies
• Administer benefits programs and ensure compliance with local market regulations
• Oversee day-to-day office operations including supplies, vendors, access control, equipment, and general upkeep
• Act as front-of-house presence: greet visitors, manage deliveries, coordinate with building management
• Support and execute employee engagement initiatives including events, monthly celebrations, and quarterly offsites
• Build and scale strong in-office culture as the team grows
• Identify inefficiencies in manual workflows and drive process documentation, improvements, and automation
• Gather employee feedback through surveys and day-to-day interactions, translating insights into action

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Foundational generalist experience in People Operations or HR within high-growth, fast-paced environments
• Genuine passion for culture and team building; you love bringing people together and championing organizational culture
• Strong working knowledge of local French HR practices, particularly benefits and compliance
• Hands-on, detail-oriented operator comfortable owning admin-heavy workflows
• Experience supporting payroll processes including variable compensation such as commissions and bonuses
• Confident managing ambiguity and building processes from scratch

Preferred qualifications:

• Proficiency with modern workplace tech stack including Slack, Zoom, Google Suite, and project management tools
• Familiarity with HRIS, EOR, or payroll platforms such as BambooHR or Deel
• Exposure to workplace experience or office operations in hybrid environments
