Senior AI Engineer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design, build, and scale production-grade AI systems at the intersection of software engineering, machine learning, and generative AI.

In this role, you will:

• Design, build, and deploy production-grade AI systems for internal operations and platform capabilities
• Develop solutions leveraging LLMs, RAG, AI Agents, multimodal AI, and evaluation frameworks
• Architect complex agentic workflows including tools, memory, retrieval, planning, and guardrails
• Rapidly prototype new capabilities and evolve them into scalable, reliable AI production systems
• Connect AI systems to internal platforms, business applications, and data sources including CRM, data platforms, support tools, and knowledge bases
• Design robust orchestration layers between models, APIs, tools, retrieval systems, and business workflows
• Partner with end users, business teams, product managers, and engineers to identify high-value AI opportunities
• Run pilots and experiments, gather feedback, and measure business impact through data-driven iteration
• Implement evaluation frameworks, guardrails, validation layers, and monitoring systems
• Ensure compliance with data security, governance, and access control requirements
• Build a scalable ecosystem of AI systems and agents that empower both internal teams and customers
• Support teams in adopting AI-powered workflows and contribute to AI engineering standards and best practices

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks candidates with:

• 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, ML Engineering, Applied AI, or related fields
• Strong Python and software engineering fundamentals
• Hands-on experience building production AI systems using LLMs, RAG, and AI Agents
• Experience designing multi-step agentic workflows and retrieval systems
• Experience evaluating AI systems and improving model performance
• Experience deploying and operating production services in cloud environments (AWS or GCP)
• Strong communication skills in English
• A strong engineering mindset with the ability to design reliable and scalable systems
• Strong AI expertise with the ability to translate the latest AI capabilities into production products
• A product mindset that balances technical excellence with business impact
• Focus on measurable outcomes rather than technical complexity
• Curiosity, pragmatism, and passion for building AI products

Technical environment includes: Python, SQL, OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Mistral, open-source models, LangGraph, LangChain, LlamaIndex, MCP, vector databases, Docker, and Kubernetes.

This is a permanent position (CDI) based in Paris with 4 days on-site per week.
