About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential global HR technology organization seeking a Senior Specialist, Employee Relations for their EMEA region. This fully remote role supports Germany, Portugal, Poland, and the Czech Republic and sits within a team that manages the complete employee lifecycle across 80+ countries.

In this position, you'll serve as an extension of client HR teams, managing complex employee transitions and providing first-level employee relations guidance. You'll navigate international employment regulations, lead sensitive conversations, and contribute to process innovation in a fast-paced, asynchronous environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end employee exits across multiple international jurisdictions, ensuring legal compliance and exceptional client service
  • Provide guidance on terminations, resignations, transfers, employment contracts, and redundancy processes
  • Lead and facilitate meetings including workforce reduction consultations, administrative hearings, and termination outcomes
  • Negotiate positive outcomes in complex terminations while balancing competing stakeholder interests
  • Coordinate with payroll, legal counsel, government bodies, and trade unions to ensure compliant offboarding and audits
  • Draft and administer termination and supplementary documents with strict attention to privacy and confidentiality
  • Process offboarding in internal HRIS platforms, collaborating across customer success, legal, payroll, benefits, and other teams
  • Serve as subject-matter expert on offboarding matters for internal and external stakeholders
  • Conduct preliminary assessment of workplace concerns, identifying key facts and applicable regulations
  • Support clients in understanding progressive disciplinary approaches and documentation requirements
  • Monitor ongoing employee relations cases with timely follow-up and stakeholder coordination
  • Identify and contribute to process improvements, automation opportunities, and product development initiatives

What We're Looking For

  • Experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner with generalist HR competencies across the employee lifecycle
  • Proven background managing both voluntary and involuntary exits with care, sensitivity, and legal compliance
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations spanning various jurisdictions
  • Ability to interpret industrial instruments, analyze complex HR issues, conduct research, and provide practical solutions in ambiguous environments
  • Basic understanding of employee relations principles, progressive discipline, and workplace investigation fundamentals
  • Excellent communication, influencing, conflict management, and negotiation skills
  • Confidence leading difficult conversations to positive outcomes while maintaining professionalism and strict confidentiality
  • Business-level (advanced) proficiency in written and spoken English; additional European languages are a plus
  • Strong aptitude for process optimization, automation, and championing best practices
  • Operational efficiency with thorough record-keeping and data integrity awareness
  • Tech-savvy with ability to collaborate asynchronously across various tools and adapt to evolving systems
  • Ability to work autonomously in an international, fast-paced, asynchronous remote environment with multiple priorities
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed across time zones
  • Proactive and self-motivated with strong ownership and accountability
  • Demonstrated automation capabilities and AI fluency
