QA Test Analyst (Automation) | AU | WFH

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization that delivers enterprise-scale platforms to major clients in the insurance sector. As their offshore team in the Philippines continues to expand, we're seeking a QA Test Analyst who is passionate about evolving from traditional testing practices into modern quality engineering, automation, and AI-assisted testing approaches.

This is a full-time, work-from-home position based in the Philippines with working hours aligned to Sydney time (7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Manila / 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM AEDT).

Responsibilities

Functional Testing:

• Review business requirements and acceptance criteria for accuracy and testability
• Create and execute comprehensive test cases, scenarios, and test plans
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing across enterprise platforms
• Validate complex workflows and customer journeys within insurance technology systems
• Identify, document, and manage defects through issue tracking systems
• Participate actively in sprint planning, refinement, and release activities

Automation Testing:

• Maintain and execute existing automated test suites to ensure platform stability
• Assist in developing new automation scripts using modern frameworks
• Participate in automation initiatives using tools such as FitNesse, Playwright, Selenium, and API automation platforms
• Continuously improve automation coverage to reduce manual testing effort

Quality Engineering:

• Support shift-left testing approaches to identify issues earlier in the development cycle
• Collaborate closely with developers and business analysts to prevent defects before they occur
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve quality processes and standards
• Help establish reusable test assets across multiple products and projects
• Contribute to effective test data management activities

Performance & Integration Testing:

• Execute performance and load testing activities using JMeter
• Validate integrations between internal systems and third-party platforms
• Support API and interface testing activities across the technology stack
• Assist with root cause analysis of production issues when they arise

Innovation & AI:

• Experiment with emerging AI-assisted testing approaches including test case generation, defect analysis, and intelligent regression testing
• Explore automated requirements reviews and test script generation using AI tools
• Contribute to the development of self-healing automation frameworks
• Support quality analytics and predictive testing initiatives

What We're Looking For

Required Experience & Skills:

• Minimum 5+ years of software testing experience in professional environments
• Proven experience executing manual test cases with strong attention to detail
• Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices
• Hands-on experience with Jira and working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with stakeholders across different time zones

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting
• Exposure to FitNesse, Selenium, or Playwright automation tools
• API testing experience and understanding of RESTful services
• SQL skills and database validation capabilities
• Experience working on SaaS products or cloud-based platforms
• Background working with offshore or distributed teams
• Insurance industry experience is advantageous but not required

Technical Skills (Current & Future):

• Current capabilities: Functional Testing, Regression Testing, UAT Support, Jira, Confluence, FitNesse, JMeter, API Testing, SQL Queries
• Future growth areas: Playwright, Selenium, Test Automation Frameworks, AI-Assisted Testing, Prompt Engineering, CI/CD Pipelines, Azure DevOps, Git, Quality Engineering Practices, Continuous Testing
