About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential aerospace technology organization based in Gilching, Bayern, Germany. Our talent team is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to join their software development group and take ownership of automated testing infrastructure for complex unmanned systems.
In this role, you will design and expand test automation frameworks that ensure software quality across integrated hardware-software platforms. You'll collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to build robust CI/CD pipelines and push the boundaries of verification strategies for cutting-edge aerospace applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive test strategies to validate software stacks for vertical take-off and landing aircraft systems
- Create end-to-end integration tests that cover hardware-software interactions
- Review, optimize, and challenge existing test cases to improve coverage and efficiency
- Build automated test frameworks that enable continuous expansion by development teams
- Evaluate and implement AI-powered testing solutions, including AI agent-based systems for test generation
- Design and implement hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop test setups from concept through deployment
- Collaborate with development teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or comparable qualification (ISTQB certification also considered)
- 3+ years of experience in software testing or similar quality assurance roles
- Strong proficiency in Python for developing and maintaining automated test cases
- Hands-on experience with Robot test automation framework
- Practical experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub preferred) and Docker containerization
- Demonstrated ability to build hardware/software-in-the-loop test environments
- Interest or experience with AI-assisted development, Large Language Models, or AI agent frameworks applied to testing is a strong advantage
- Experience with DO-178C certification standards is beneficial
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Proactive, organized mindset with proven ability to manage multiple assignments
- Strong team collaboration skills
