Team Lead Software Production Support (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential aerospace technology client in their search for a Team Lead Software Production Support based in Gilching, Bayern, Germany. This role sits at the critical intersection of serial production operations and embedded software deployment, ensuring that advanced hardware systems leave the manufacturing floor fully configured, tested, and documented for mission-critical use.

You will lead a technical support team responsible for microcontroller flashing, firmware deployment, production diagnostics, automation tooling, and traceability workflows. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring both strategic process improvement and direct troubleshooting on the production floor.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Software Production Support team, balancing urgent production issues with long-term process improvements
• Identify bottlenecks, recurring failures, and process weaknesses across serial production workflows
• Define and implement robust processes for microcontroller flashing, NVIDIA Orin installation, firmware updates, diagnostics, and recovery procedures
• Drive automation and standardization of software-related production steps to improve efficiency and reliability
• Ensure production tools are versioned, documented, and maintainable across the manufacturing environment
• Define requirements for production traceability and digital documentation systems
• Coordinate software-related production escalations with Engineering, Quality, and Industrialization teams
• Ensure digital work instructions accurately reflect real production processes and technical requirements
• Monitor KPIs including production downtime, flashing success rates, recurring issues, and software-related first-pass yield
• Transform production issues into sustainable improvements across process, tooling, and engineering

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience in embedded systems, production software, manufacturing test, industrialization, or technical production support
• Proven experience working in serial production or manufacturing environments
• Strong understanding of embedded software, firmware flashing, production diagnostics, and system integration
• Experience with Linux-based embedded systems; familiarity with NVIDIA Jetson/Orin or similar platforms is highly valued
• Hands-on experience with scripting, automation, production tooling, and diagnostic workflows
• Ability to analyze complex issues spanning software, electronics, tooling, process, and operator interaction
• Experience coordinating or leading technical teams in a production environment
• Strong communication skills across production operators, engineers, quality teams, and management levels
• Structured, hands-on mindset with ability to distinguish one-off production issues from systemic process weaknesses
• Background in aerospace, robotics, automotive, defense, or industrial electronics is advantageous
• Knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, UART, Ethernet, USB, SWD, JTAG, I2C, SPI) and traceability systems is a plus
