About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential federal contracting organization seeking a Cost Estimator to support a major government client. This role focuses on developing and maintaining cost estimation processes for IT investments, applying industry best practices and federal guidance to ensure accurate project budgeting and compliance.

The position is remote within the United States and requires active collaboration with program management, IT governance teams, and service partners to produce high-quality cost estimates for technology projects and programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive cost estimates for IT investments, products, projects, and programs using industry best practices and federal guidance
• Conduct cost estimation analysis on new and ongoing IT and software development initiatives
• Collaborate with IT partner engagement teams, program management offices, and other organizational directorates
• Formulate and maintain cost estimating processes and procedures aligned with federal requirements
• Conduct thorough cost estimate reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Provide professional support in enhancing existing processes and roles for IT cost estimation
• Apply GAO cost estimating and assessment guidance, Agile assessment frameworks, and CPIC methodologies
• Deliver overall direction and leadership for hardware and software cost estimate preparation

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of combined experience in IT cost estimating and information systems development, acquisition, operations, or maintenance
• Minimum 2 years applying GAO cost estimating and assessment guide, GAO Agile assessment guide, Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC), and/or PMI program and project cost estimating best practices
• Demonstrated ability to analyze project requirements and accurately estimate IT project costs
• Proven capability to provide leadership for preparation of hardware and software cost estimates
• BS/BA degree or equivalent education; alternatively, training and certification in one of the following: PMP, FAC-P/PM, CCEA, PCEA, or SCEC
• Progressively responsible experience enabling independent work without supervision

Preferred:

• Experience utilizing SEER Cost Estimation product suite
