VP, Business Consultant

Overview

Our talent team is representing a confidential wealth management organization in their search for a VP, Business Consultant. In this role, you'll serve as a strategic partner to financial advisors, providing consultation and guidance to improve their practices. You'll work closely with independent advisors and their teams, helping them optimize business operations, implement growth strategies, and navigate industry changes. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced financial services professional who thrives on problem-solving and building trusted advisor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Organize and execute business projects on behalf of advisor clients, including recruiting support, business structure optimization, product selection, and promotional campaigns
• Conduct initial assessments of advisor practices and collect information through shadowing, interviews, and surveys
• Analyze data to identify areas of improvement and formulate actionable recommendations
• Serve as centralized point of contact for advisor questions, issues, and guidance
• Help advisors navigate available products and services while keeping them informed of regulatory and industry changes
• Work with advisors to analyze current business practices and recommend appropriate business models, tools, and services
• Facilitate completion and implementation of advisor business plans, including client segmentation, value propositions, and service models
• Provide succession planning advice, team structure recommendations, and business valuations
• Organize and facilitate periodic advisor study groups, focus groups, and regional meetings to promote best practices
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver comprehensive solutions

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Administration, or equivalent related experience
• 10+ years of experience in the financial services industry with consulting background
• Active Series 7, 63, 65, and/or 66 licenses required
• Familiarity with business management software such as CRM platforms and financial planning tools
• Analytical mindset with excellent data collection and organization skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build trusted relationships
• Excellent time management and organizational abilities
• Relevant industry experience working with independent financial advisors preferred
• Strong knowledge of investments, financial operations, insurance, and business practices
• Solid understanding of the broker/dealer landscape
