About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential energy infrastructure client seeking a Finance and Capital Markets Analyst to join their growing finance team. This role offers broad exposure to project finance, modeling, and cross-functional collaboration in the fast-moving battery storage sector.
As part of our client's finance team, you will support debt and tax equity financing transactions for utility-scale energy storage projects across North America. Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of debt and tax equity financing transactions, including preparation of marketing materials, due diligence coordination, management of external consultants, and financial modeling
- Own project financial models throughout the full lifecycle—development, construction, and operations—including optimization, offtake bidding, and input validation with cross-functional experts
- Develop dashboards, reports, and analytics to support senior management decision-making and investor reporting
- Analyze macroeconomic and ISO-level market trends, tax law changes, interest rate movements, and sector developments to assess portfolio viability
- Collaborate with development, interconnection, markets, EPC, origination, and asset management teams to perform economic analysis and support business decisions including PPA pricing, project design optimization, equipment selection, and O&M contract negotiation
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field
- 1–2 years of project finance transaction experience at a developer, investment bank, project finance lender, tax equity investor, or infrastructure investor; OR a finance/technical degree from a rigorous program and completion of (or willingness to complete) a financial modeling course
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, including experience with project financial modeling
- Tax equity modeling experience is a plus
- Experience in energy storage, renewables, or gas is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, geographically dispersed team environment
- Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail
- Experience managing large projects with multiple stakeholders on tight timelines
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill and present complex information clearly to internal and external stakeholders, including financing counterparties
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across diverse roles, seniority levels, and working styles
- Ability and desire to learn and take on responsibility quickly
- Location flexible; preference for candidates based in or near San Francisco, Chicago, Brooklyn, or Seattle
