Business/Systems Analyst Intern – Summer 2027

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential federal technology client seeking a Business/Systems Analyst Intern for Summer 2027. This is an excellent opportunity for undergraduate juniors to gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise financial applications in a government contracting environment. You'll work closely with functional teams to support customers, document requirements, and participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle.

This is a part-time position based in the United States with up to 10% continental travel. The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business analysts to gather system requirements and produce detailed requirement and functional specification documents for financial applications
• Work with development teams to ensure requirements are understood, participate in application design discussions, and help overcome development obstacles
• Conduct system testing at the development site to validate requirements and ensure quality
• Continuously analyze business and user needs, document requirements, and identify solutions for new and emerging business processes
• Provide professional and timely customer support and training
• Troubleshoot existing functionality and enhancements in enterprise resource planning systems
• Develop standard operating procedures and documentation
• Work as an integral member of a functional team under close supervision

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Currently enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program in computer science or related field (junior standing required)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance and pass a Tier 1 background investigation
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Demonstrated ability to provide professional customer support
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Willingness to learn enterprise-wide financial database systems and train other users
• Interest in working in an Agile environment

Preferred:

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Experience supporting software applications
• Experience gathering system requirements and testing
• Comfort with presenting to an audience
• Passion for learning complex business applications and understanding technical details
• Relevant certifications (ITIL, Security+, etc.)
• Previous internship, co-op, or work experience demonstrating leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal communication skills
