Fractional Data Analyst (6–8 Hours per Week) – FinTech / Remote

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential early-stage fintech organization seeking a Fractional Data Analyst to work approximately 6–8 hours per week on a remote basis. This role provides hands-on analytical support to help transform business and product data into actionable insights that drive decision-making.

You will be responsible for:

• Analyzing business, product, and operational datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and anomalies
• Writing and maintaining SQL queries to extract and manipulate data
• Cleaning and validating data, identifying quality issues rather than blindly reporting findings
• Developing dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools
• Translating business questions from non-technical stakeholders into analytical approaches
• Supporting product, risk, and commercial decision-making with data-driven insights
• Establishing appropriate metrics and KPIs as the organization scales
• Supporting data-driven experimentation and evaluation initiatives
• Documenting analytical methodologies to improve consistency
• Presenting findings clearly to diverse audiences across the organization

This is an early-stage environment without established data infrastructure or predefined processes. You will help build analytical capabilities from the ground up, working with ambiguity and imperfect datasets.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Professional experience as a Data Analyst or in an equivalent analytical role
• Strong practical SQL proficiency with demonstrated ability to solve complex data problems
• Proven experience cleaning, validating, and analyzing incomplete or inconsistent datasets
• Hands-on experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools
• Practical capability with Python or comparable analytical programming tools
• Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify questionable data
• Ability to work independently in an early-stage setting where processes are still being established
• Clear communication skills to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to consistently commit 6–8 hours per week alongside other professional commitments

Experience within fintech, financial services, credit, payments, lending, banking, or other data-rich regulated environments is particularly valuable. Candidates from adjacent industries with sufficiently strong analytical capability will also be considered.
