Full Stack Developer co-op

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential iPaaS organization based in Canada. This is a genuine Full Stack Developer co-op position where you'll work on production systems from day one—not side projects or busywork, but features that ship to real enterprise customers.

You'll join a remote-first R&D team building integration solutions that connect HR, payroll, benefits, and recruiting platforms. This is work where technical precision meets business logic: every feature exists because an organization needs their data to move cleanly between systems without manual intervention.

The tech stack centers on Java and JavaScript, and many co-op graduates have converted to full-time roles after their term.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve features in a production integration platform, understanding the customer need behind each
• Write backend and full stack code in Java and JavaScript
• Work with APIs and data flows between enterprise systems, where precision matters
• Use modern development tooling, including AI-assisted coding, with a critical eye toward output quality
• Write and execute tests to ensure your work holds up in production
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with senior engineers

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related program
• Completed at least one prior co-op term or have relevant professional work experience
• Solid foundation in Java and JavaScript
• Some exposure to Spring and JUnit (academic projects count)
• Familiarity with or coursework in APIs
• Strong analytical thinking—you connect your work to customer outcomes and ask "why" before building
• Thoughtful approach to adopting new tools, including AI—you know that reviewing and validating generated output is where the real value lies
• Curiosity and motivation to solve problems thoroughly

Nice to have: Experience with REST APIs, React, GraphQL, Groovy, JMS, or SOAP; interest in integration platforms and how enterprise systems connect.
