Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential digital consulting firm seeking a Senior Consultant for Digital Analytics in München. In this role, you will build measurement frameworks that support real investment decisions in complex B2B environments.
Your core responsibilities include:
- Designing and owning measurement strategies from KPI definition through technical specification, always connecting metrics to business decisions
- Implementing tracking setups in Google Tag Manager, including server-side containers, configured for Consent Mode v2 and real-world constraints like ITP restrictions and consent loss
- Ensuring data quality through validation, debugging, and documentation—identifying setups that deliver plausible but incorrect data
- Working beyond standard interfaces with GA4, BigQuery, SQL, and analytics platforms to deliver focused insights with transparent uncertainty
- Defining reporting logic, metrics, granularity, and dashboard specifications in collaboration with data teams using Power BI or Looker Studio
- Integrating CRM data (Salesforce, HubSpot) with marketing analytics, implementing offline conversion tracking to connect marketing activity with sales outcomes
- Managing data privacy compliance through CMP setups (Usercentrics, Cookiebot, OneTrust), consent signals, and data minimization in coordination with legal teams
- Supporting multiple client accounts within agreed budgets, flagging scope changes proactively
- Communicating technical concepts clearly to executives and translating analysis into actionable guidance for commercial teams
- Leveraging AI tools for analysis and documentation while applying professional judgment to outputs
- Coaching colleagues and collaborating with search, performance, marketing technology, and data teams
What We're Looking For
Our client needs someone with deep technical expertise and the ability to operate in complex B2B measurement environments:
- Minimum 4 years hands-on experience in web analytics and tracking with direct responsibility for production implementations; you've inherited and remediated existing setups
- Expert-level Google Tag Manager knowledge, both client-side and server-side—you understand why HTTP-only cookies via same-site subdomain endpoints are the critical element of server-side tagging
- Practical experience with Consent Mode v2, CMP integration, and modeling limitations; you recognize common misconfigurations in tracking containers
- Strong GA4 proficiency plus comfort with BigQuery export and SQL; you know where the GA4 interface becomes unreliable
- Ability to define metrics from business requirements before measurement, explaining which decisions each metric supports
- Understanding of B2B data realities: long cycles, small sample sizes, lead quality over volume, CRM as source of truth—experience in manufacturing, industrial goods, or wholesale is advantageous
- Patience with client IT constraints (lengthy deployment cycles, limited access, DNS processes) while still delivering results
- Strong Excel skills and ability to work independently after gathering necessary context from teams
- Fluent German and professional English
- Bonus: Experience with SEO reporting, marketing mix modeling, or dbt
