Area Sales Manager UK

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential manufacturing organization with a strong European presence in the industrial cooling sector. Our client is expanding their UK operations and seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to drive business development across the territory.

This is a field-based role ideally suited to candidates in the Midlands or Northern UK, with home office flexibility and occasional travel to European facilities. You'll work directly with engineering teams and clients to deliver technical solutions in the industrial process cooling market.

Responsibilities

• Identify and map key stakeholders across the UK industrial cooling market
• Lead prospecting campaigns and build long-term relationships with decision-makers including engineering offices, contractors, end-users, investors, designers, and installers
• Represent the organization at specialized trade events and industry associations
• Conduct competitive and market analysis to support product positioning
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to translate customer requirements into tailored technical solutions
• Prepare tender submissions and participate in strategic bid reviews
• Develop and manage strategic key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention
• Maintain accurate pipeline forecasts and CRM reporting to support capacity planning
• Share market insights and best practices with cross-functional teams

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent qualification
• At least 5 years of business development or key account management experience in technical or industrial solutions (HVAC, refrigeration, energy, or industrial equipment sectors)
• Strong knowledge of the UK industrial market environment
• Proven ability to work with multicultural teams and diverse customer types
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
• Fluent English required; French language proficiency is advantageous
• Comfortable working independently in a field-based role with home office arrangements
