Senior Manager, Accounting

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential client in the food delivery sector, seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting to join their London-based finance team. This is a hybrid position working from their central London headquarters.

Our client is a fast-growing marketplace company seeking an experienced accounting professional to strengthen general ledger operations and drive alignment with global financial processes. You'll play a critical role in managing day-to-day accounting activities while partnering with cross-functional leaders during an exciting period of growth.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, SOX controls, and external audit requirements
• Integrate general ledger accounting operations to drive alignment with global processes across the organisation
• Share ownership of the full-cycle general ledger financial close process, reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure complete and accurate financials
• Drive process improvement and automation initiatives to streamline accounting operations and refine monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles
• Act as a key decision-maker in the continuous development of accounting policies, standard operating procedures, and monthly variance analysis in partnership with FP&A and Financial Reporting teams
• Report directly to the International Controller while managing and developing accounting staff

What We're Looking For

Essential qualifications:

• Extensive public company accounting experience within a relevant industry
• Proven experience managing and developing staff
• Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, PCAOB standards, and SOX internal controls
• Proven track record of managing full-cycle financial close processes and maintaining robust accounting operations
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, ACA/ACCA/CPA qualification, or equivalent professional experience

Nice to have:

• Experience working with financial systems such as NetSuite, Coupa, and GSuite
