Manager, Regulatory Services

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential client in the testing and certification industry who is seeking a Manager of Regulatory Services to lead their Food Label review team. This is a leadership role focused on ensuring compliance with US and Canadian food labeling regulations while managing and developing a technical team.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, and train members of the Food Label review group
• Review and validate work of label review staff to ensure accuracy and compliance against US and Canadian regulations and guidelines
• Interview, hire, and manage label review staff
• Provide training, guidance, and support to review staff to expand their knowledge of food labeling regulations
• Review nutritional labels and provide written results to clients or upload into client databases as required
• Serve as primary point of contact for technical inquiries regarding label compliance
• Stay current on updated food labeling regulations through internal and external training
• Conduct employee performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback for employee development
• Create and oversee processes within the label review department
• Identify quality-related problems and initiate corrective action and follow-up
• Ensure all reported data and label reviews are accurate and completed within required timeframes

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree with concentration in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or other relevant science area (required)
• 5-7 years of relevant experience (required)
• Highly knowledgeable in data reporting, technical requirements, and food regulations (required)
• Knowledge of LIMS systems (preferred)
• Strong language, mathematical, and reasoning skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment
• Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team leadership
