Software Engineer – (Mid Level)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential travel technology company that is transforming how hotels compete in the digital landscape. Our client's platform helps hospitality businesses increase direct bookings and build stronger guest relationships across 100+ countries.

We're seeking a Mid Level Software Engineer to join a collaborative squad focused on core marketing channels including metasearch, paid search, and retargeting. This role offers strong backend focus with full-stack responsibilities, working primarily in TypeScript with modern cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services and integrations with advertising platforms
• Develop features within campaign management tools that give customers strategic control and tactical flexibility
• Pair program with teammates for the majority of your coding time
• Practice trunk-based development and continuous delivery, shipping small incremental changes to production
• Design scalable, distributed systems that maintain high availability and throughput
• Work with data systems to power real-time analytics, A/B testing, and monitoring
• Contribute to squad strategy and product direction, not just implementation
• Participate in daily standups, weekly planning sessions, and regular retrospectives
• Build admin tools and reporting interfaces using React (minimal UI work)

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills:

• Strong comfort with pair programming and test-driven development (TDD) as core engineering practices
• Excellent backend experience in TypeScript/Node.js with additional frontend capabilities
• Practical experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform
• Experience building deployment pipelines and practicing continuous delivery
• Solid understanding of data systems including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and BigQuery
• Systems thinking: ability to design distributed, high-availability systems while maintaining code quality
• Product-minded approach with customer-centric focus
• Strong collaboration skills and commitment to psychological safety in teams
• Write clear, maintainable code that improves the codebase with each contribution

Bonus Experience:

• Online advertising or ad tech products
• Google Ads API or similar advertising platform integrations
• gRPC and API library development
• Cross-functional teams practicing Extreme Programming (XP) and Kanban
• Multiple programming languages and ecosystems
• Entrepreneurial examples of identifying and delivering opportunities
