WSH Group is seeking an experienced Catering Manager to lead food and nutrition services at Chieveley Primary School in Chieveley, England, GB. The Opportunity

As Catering Manager with WSH Group, you'll take charge of the complete catering operation at this primary school, from menu planning and food preparation through to delivery and service. You'll combine hands-on catering expertise with strategic leadership, ensuring cost-effective operations, strict compliance with food safety standards, and genuine care for customer satisfaction. This is a role where your professionalism and attention to detail directly improve students' wellbeing and school life.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare nutritious meals meeting dietary requirements, allergies, and school nutritional standards
• Lead and supervise the catering team; manage rotas, training, and performance
• Maintain rigorous food safety and kitchen hygiene standards in line with legislation
• Control food costs and manage budgets to deliver value for the school
• Liaise with school staff, parents, and pupils on menus, dietary needs, and catering feedback
• Order stock from suppliers, monitor inventory, and manage supplies efficiently
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised kitchen and dining areas
• Handle complaints and feedback professionally, implementing improvements

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven catering management experience, ideally in a school or institutional setting
• Thorough knowledge of food safety, hygiene legislation, and nutritional standards
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities
• Budget management and cost-control experience
• Organised, reliable, and proactive in problem-solving
• Relevant catering qualifications or certifications valued
