Staff Engineer – Talentpool (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential health technology organization with operations across multiple international markets. Our talent team is seeking a Staff Engineer to join their Berlin-based engineering function. This role offers the chance to work on meaningful technology that supports care delivery systems, collaborating with stakeholders across Germany, Switzerland, and the United States.

As a Staff Engineer, you will take ownership of the complete software development lifecycle, from initial design through production deployment. You'll shape technical architecture, drive engineering excellence, and leave a lasting impact on systems that operate at scale across multiple markets.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of software solutions, including requirements gathering, architecture design, development, testing, and deployment
• Own the full software development lifecycle from conception to production, ensuring high-quality and scalable outcomes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective technical specifications
• Design and implement both backend and frontend systems that meet functional and performance requirements
• Establish and maintain infrastructure and DevOps practices, ensuring reliable deployment pipelines and system stability
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement
• Partner with leadership on technical strategy, contribute to hiring decisions, and support engineering team growth

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 8 years of software engineering experience with deep understanding of the complete software development lifecycle
• Proven track record designing, building, and maintaining production backend and frontend systems
• Strong experience with DevOps practices and infrastructure setup
• Technical expertise with Node.js, Vue.js/React.js, PostgreSQL, and Redis is highly valued
• Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to take technical ownership and inspire engineering teams
• Excellent communication abilities, effective with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience in technical lead roles, mentoring engineers and driving technical decisions
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and commitment to continuous learning
• Fluent English required
• Experience in startup or high-growth company environments is a plus
