UI / Visual Designer Specialist

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking a UI / Visual Designer Specialist for a remote contract engagement. In this role, you will contribute to a writing-intensive design project that requires both visual expertise and strong analytical communication.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• Critically evaluating user interfaces and analyzing strengths and weaknesses in visual and interaction design
• Crafting structured, well-reasoned written rationales for design decisions, documenting analysis and recommendations
• Developing and articulating design principles, patterns, and guidelines that support robust design systems
• Reviewing, refining, and documenting component libraries for clarity, consistency, and accessibility
• Creating clear, visually engaging mockups using Figma while applying best practices in color, typography, spacing, and responsive design
• Producing comprehensive design documentation that effectively communicates decisions and rationale to diverse audiences
• Ensuring accessibility standards and usability considerations are addressed in both visual design and supporting documentation

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks a designer with a unique blend of visual craft and writing ability. The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 3 years of experience in UI, visual, or product design with a strong portfolio of digital work
• Deep expertise in typography, color theory, visual hierarchy, layout, and responsive design
• Demonstrated proficiency in Figma and hands-on experience working with design systems and component libraries
• Experience documenting design systems or writing component guidelines with detailed, persuasive rationales
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain complex design choices clearly and analytically
• Familiarity with accessibility standards (such as WCAG) and their practical application in interface design
• Advanced English writing skills are essential for this role

This is a contract position available to remote candidates. No prior AI experience is required—your design domain knowledge is what matters.
