Guidance/Navigation/Control Engineering – E2 with Security Clearance

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential aerospace organization seeking a Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer (E2 level) in Sunnyvale, California. This position requires an active security clearance.

Our client designs and develops advanced flight systems for mission-critical applications. This role focuses on algorithm development and implementation for complex vehicle dynamics and trajectory management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement guidance, navigation, and control algorithms for aerospace vehicles
• Perform verification and testing of GN&C algorithms across various flight phases including powered flight, coast phases, earth orbit operations, and orbital insertion
• Process and analyze navigation sensor data using statistical methods and filtering techniques
• Support staging events and interplanetary cruise mission phases through control system design
• Develop and validate models for aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicles, and upper stage systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate GN&C solutions into larger system architectures

What We're Looking For

• Required: Active security clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline
• Experience with guidance, navigation, and control system design and analysis
• Strong background in orbital mechanics, flight dynamics, and control theory
• Proficiency with algorithm development and simulation tools
• Understanding of statistical estimation techniques and sensor fusion
• Experience with trajectory optimization and mission planning
• E2 engineering level experience (typically 3-5 years in relevant aerospace roles)
