The Opportunity

Wabtec is seeking a hands-on Compressor Production Technician I to join our Duncan, SC production team. In this entry-level technical role, you'll contribute to the assembly, testing, and quality assurance of compressor components and systems. This position offers the chance to develop production technician skills while working with precision equipment and quality-focused processes in a structured manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

• Assemble compressor components and subassemblies according to engineering specifications and production work instructions
• Operate production equipment and tools to perform assembly and quality checks
• Test compressor systems and components to verify functionality and performance against specifications
• Inspect finished products and assemblies for defects, dimensional accuracy, and quality standards
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow all safety and housekeeping procedures
• Document production activities and test results as required
• Troubleshoot basic production issues and escalate concerns to supervisors and senior technicians

Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent (or relevant production experience)
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand tools and production equipment
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and take direction from supervisors
• Basic math skills and ability to record accurate measurements and data
• Willingness to learn new production processes and equipment
