About the Role
As an Electrical Engineer II at Wabtec's Buffalo Grove facility, you will play a key technical role in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and components. This position combines hands-on engineering work with mentoring opportunities, allowing you to grow your expertise while making a tangible impact on projects that serve the global transportation sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems, circuits, and power management solutions
- Perform technical analysis, simulation, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment
- Create detailed engineering documentation, schematics, and technical specifications
- Support prototype development, testing, validation, and field trials
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and program management
- Ensure designs meet production requirements, regulatory standards, and customer specifications
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline
- Demonstrated experience working as an Electrical Engineer or in a comparable technical engineering role
- Strong foundation in electrical systems, circuit design, power distribution, and control systems
- Working knowledge of electrical design software and simulation tools
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality work within established timelines
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or active pursuit of licensure preferred
