About This Position
This is your opportunity to work at a leading automotive testing facility, where you'll contribute to the development and validation of internal combustion engine systems. Working within our Powertrain engineering division, you'll operate sophisticated test equipment, monitor engine performance parameters, and ensure all testing protocols meet industry standards. The role is based at our Bedford facility and is ideal for a technically skilled professional with a background in engine testing or related automotive powertrain work.
What You'll Do
- Conduct engine performance tests and dynamometer testing on ICE systems
- Set up and calibrate test instrumentation and data acquisition systems
- Monitor engine behaviour during testing and record detailed technical data
- Maintain comprehensive test logs and ensure compliance with testing procedures
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and contribute to continuous improvement of test protocols
- Support the wider Powertrain engineering team on engine validation projects
What You Bring
- Proven experience in engine testing, dynamometer operation, or automotive powertrain testing
- Strong knowledge of internal combustion engine fundamentals and operating principles
- Proficiency with test equipment, instrumentation, and data collection software
- Attention to detail and commitment to accurate record-keeping
- Ability to work safely in a technical laboratory environment
- Relevant qualification or apprenticeship in engineering, automotive, or a related discipline
