What This Role Involves

As a Resident Engineer with Ramboll, you'll serve as the embedded technical lead on assigned projects, managing on-site operations and acting as the primary liaison between design, construction, and stakeholder teams. Your work directly impacts project success, timeline adherence, and quality standards. You'll be responsible for translating engineering specifications into practical field execution while maintaining rigorous attention to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. This is hands-on, relationship-intensive work where your technical judgment and problem-solving drive tangible results.

Core Duties

• Oversee daily engineering operations and construction activities on project sites
• Inspect work quality, materials, and installation methods against design specifications and applicable codes
• Coordinate communication between design engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
• Document site conditions, progress, and issues through field reports and photographic records
• Address field challenges and authorize work modifications within your authority
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Respond promptly to emerging site conditions and technical questions

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, electrical, or related engineering discipline
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or eligibility to obtain one
• Demonstrated experience managing on-site engineering responsibilities on infrastructure or construction projects
• Strong technical foundation in relevant engineering standards and building codes
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with diverse teams
• Detail-oriented mindset with proven ability to manage multiple priorities
• Willingness to work on-site and in field conditions as required
