About This Position

The Preconstruction Manager role is central to how Knobelsdorff Enterprises delivers complex projects on schedule and budget. You'll own the transition from proposal to active construction, synthesizing cost data, logistics, scheduling, and risk assessment into a detailed roadmap that empowers field teams. This position bridges business development and operations, requiring both analytical precision and collaborative leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed construction plans, cost estimates, and schedules based on project scope and design documents
• Conduct feasibility analysis and value engineering to optimize project approaches and reduce costs
• Coordinate with estimating, operations, and project management teams to ensure handoff readiness
• Identify and mitigate logistical, labor, material, and safety challenges before they impact the field
• Manage bid preparation, RFQs, and vendor negotiations to lock in competitive pricing and delivery terms
• Prepare and organize project documentation, specifications, and construction methods for field reference
• Develop equipment and resource allocation plans to maximize efficiency on site

What You Bring

• 3+ years of experience in preconstruction, project management, estimating, or construction operations
• Solid understanding of construction methods, sequencing, labor productivity, and material logistics
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents
• Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office; experience with estimating or scheduling tools preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
• Problem-solving mindset and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to visit job sites and collaborate directly with field teams
