About the Role

Fortune Brands is seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to architect and oversee the company's data engineering initiatives. Core Duties

• Design and oversee the architecture of enterprise-scale data pipelines and warehouses
• Lead a team of data engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance management
• Define data standards, governance frameworks, and best practices for the organization
• Collaborate with analytics, machine learning, and business teams to translate requirements into robust data solutions
• Evaluate and implement data technologies and platforms that enhance performance and reduce operational overhead
• Establish and monitor data quality metrics, security protocols, and compliance standards
• Drive continuous improvement of data infrastructure, reducing latency and increasing reliability

Qualifications

• 7+ years of data engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or senior architectural role
• Expert-level proficiency in SQL and modern data stack technologies (Apache Spark, Airflow, Snowflake, BigQuery, or equivalent)
• Demonstrated ability to design scalable, fault-tolerant systems handling petabyte-scale data
• Strong understanding of data warehouse architecture, ETL/ELT patterns, and data modeling
• Proven experience building and developing engineering teams
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
