Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential financial services organization in Berlin seeking an experienced credit specialist to manage complex corporate problem loans. In this role, you will carry full case responsibility with independent decision-making authority and direct impact on outcomes.

• Independently manage terminated corporate credit engagements up to €10 million from cancellation through final recovery
• Analyze engagements from economic, legal, and risk perspectives and develop concrete restructuring or liquidation strategies
• Oversee insolvency proceedings from opening to conclusion, participate in creditor committees, and deploy legal instruments including foreclosures and guarantee claims
• Conduct negotiations directly with customers, insolvency administrators, and legal counsel with authority and assertiveness
• Actively manage your portfolio independently, maintain deadlines, and act proactively rather than reactively
• Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute concrete solutions to strengthen decision-making frameworks

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in corporate credit, ideally in problem loan management, restructuring, or liquidation
• Proven insolvency experience: you have guided at least one complete insolvency proceeding from opening to conclusion, including creditor committee participation
• Sound understanding of legal instruments in insolvency, land registry, and foreclosure law with confident practical application
• Strong economic judgment: you understand credit risks and collateral structures and can systematically assess complex situations
• Assertiveness in challenging conversations, representing institutional interests clearly and credibly
• Independent work style with strong organizational skills, deadline awareness, and reliability managing parallel cases
• German language proficiency required for legal documentation and stakeholder negotiations
