AI Product Engineer (f/m/d)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential SaaS organization seeking an AI Product Engineer to join their Berlin-based technology team. This role offers the opportunity to build AI-powered products and internal solutions from concept through production deployment, working with cutting-edge large language models and agent systems.

Responsibilities

• Build AI products and solutions that serve end users and optimize internal processes, taking ownership from ideation through production deployment
• Develop intelligent automations, workflows, assistants, and tools that measurably improve quality and efficiency
• Design and implement the AI layer of products including prompts, tool calls, RAG systems, and agent logic
• Work with spec-driven development using agentic loops, defining tests and criteria for AI-benchmarked code
• Monitor production solutions and continuously improve performance based on real-world usage
• Research and evaluate new models, frameworks, and AI tools, proactively introducing relevant innovations
• Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Maintain AI-compatible knowledge bases that enable autonomous iteration and easier navigation

What We're Looking For

• Full-stack development experience with Angular and React on the frontend, Java and Python on the backend, with proven ability to deploy to production independently
• Hands-on experience building LLM applications, agent systems, and RAG implementations including prompt engineering, tool-call design, and evaluations
• Demonstrated experience using spec-driven workflows with agentic loops to ship production software, not just experimental prototypes
• Product mindset with ability to independently prioritize and structure requirements
• Strong communication skills with ability to engage non-technical stakeholders, understand their needs, and explain solutions clearly
• Focus on solving real-world problems with practical solutions rather than elegant demos
• University degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Enthusiasm for working at the forefront of AI development and willingness to continuously adapt to new techniques
• Location: Berlin with flexible remote work options
