What This Role Involves

As a Contracts Manager specializing in Global Real Estate & Fixed Asset Procurement at Expeditors, you'll lead the development and stewardship of contractual frameworks that enable our worldwide real estate strategy and procurement initiatives. You'll work across cross-functional teams to structure agreements that protect the company's interests, meet legal obligations, and streamline our global operations. Your contract expertise will directly impact efficiency, risk mitigation, and procurement performance across Expeditors' international footprint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate, draft, and review contracts covering real estate transactions, facility leases, and fixed asset acquisitions
  • Build and maintain productive partnerships with landlords, vendors, and service providers in the real estate and procurement space
  • Ensure all contracts meet applicable legal standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies
  • Collaborate with finance, legal, operations, and facilities teams to align contract terms with business objectives
  • Organize and maintain contract records, including key dates, renewal schedules, and performance obligations
  • Evaluate contractual risks and recommend strategies to protect the organization
  • Drive cost savings through contract analysis, renegotiation, and procurement optimization

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing contracts in real estate, procurement, or asset management environments
  • Solid foundation in contract law, negotiation methodology, and risk assessment
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills for external vendor and internal stakeholder engagement
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capability to handle multiple complex agreements simultaneously
  • Proficiency with contract management software and standard business applications
  • Bachelor's degree in law, business administration, supply chain management, or related discipline preferred
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
