Product Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential education technology company experiencing rapid growth in the United States. They're looking for one of their first Product Engineers based in the US (CT/ET timezone) to join a small but mighty team of 25 engineers who are building a platform that connects educators with schools.

This is a remote, full-time position ideal for someone who thrives on autonomy, product thinking, and end-to-end ownership. You'll be working with teams distributed across time zones, collaborating closely with Product and Operations, and helping to scale both the platform and the team around you.

Responsibilities

As a Product Engineer, you'll work in a mission-based setup where teams form around outcomes rather than org charts. Your day-to-day might include:

• Shaping and solving ambiguous problems end-to-end, from initial exploration through shipping and iteration
• Working across the full stack (Ruby on Rails, React, React Native) to deliver features that move key business metrics
• Building and improving internal tooling, permissions systems, and infrastructure to support rapid growth
• Instrumenting analytics and monitoring to better understand user behavior and system performance
• Upgrading dependencies, addressing security vulnerabilities, and maintaining technical health
• Partnering with Product Managers and Designers to define problems worth solving, not just execute tickets
• Shipping regularly—daily shipping culture is a core value, with emphasis on starting small and iterating fast
• Contributing to engineering excellence through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and process improvement

Technical experience:

• Solid engineering fundamentals—we hire for how you think, not specific tools
• Full-stack capabilities; the core stack is Ruby on Rails, React, and React Native on Heroku
• Comfortable with "boring tech for the obvious, experimentation for the rest" (they've explored AI, Amazon Personalize, and other newer technologies where appropriate)
• Experience shipping to production regularly and safely

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $130,000 - $190,000 USD annually, depending on experience and level. The client's compensation philosophy is based on competitiveness in your local hiring market.
