Cloud Engineer (Intern)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cloud modernization consultancy in their search for a Cloud Engineer Intern. This is a remote position that offers genuine exposure to production cloud infrastructure across multiple enterprise clients.

Our client specializes in AWS modernization projects where operational excellence determines whether customer systems run smoothly or fail under pressure. As an intern on their infrastructure team, you'll work alongside senior engineers to configure, deploy, and troubleshoot enterprise software in real customer environments. This isn't theoretical cloud work—you'll be supporting live production systems where monitoring, clear communication, and disciplined troubleshooting directly impact customer success.

Responsibilities

• Implement cloud architectures on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform under the direction of Solutions Architects
• Support customer cloud deployments as part of a 24x7 operational support rotation
• Monitor production infrastructure during rotational shifts and improve monitoring and alerting through automation
• Prepare and present monthly operational reports to customers on schedule
• Use configuration management tools, scripting languages, and open-source solutions to manage infrastructure reliably
• Maintain and improve existing enterprise infrastructure across multiple client environments
• Identify and help adopt new technologies that improve operational outcomes

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Strong Windows and Linux systems administration skills, including experience migrating or architecting multi-tier applications to cloud infrastructure
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for updating customers and internal teams on issues, escalations, and root cause analyses
• Ability to communicate architecture visually to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Genuine drive to help customers succeed in production environments

Preferred qualifications:

• Prior hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure
• Industry certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, RHEL Certified Engineer, Azure certifications, or Snowflake certifications
• Configuration management experience with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
