About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization in a specialized, high-impact engineering role focused on transforming customer operations through applied AI. This position reports to senior systems leadership and serves as the technical catalyst for AI adoption across Support, Success, Onboarding, and Implementation teams.

This is a highly practical, application-focused engineering position where you will spend your time building AI-powered tools and agents, maintaining shared platforms that enable self-service automation, and developing robust internal software and integrations. You'll work at the intersection of modern AI frameworks and real-world operational workflows, making transformative technology accessible to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

As the Internal Systems Engineer (Applied AI), you will:

• Build AI-powered tools and agentic workflows using modern LLM orchestration frameworks, integrating applied AI into customer operations processes
• Consult with business stakeholders to define logic, prompts, and implementation strategies for AI applications
• Design and maintain a shared agent platform with templates, approved patterns, and deployment infrastructure that enables non-engineers to build their own agents
• Develop custom integrations for enterprise ticketing systems to support operational teams
• Own the full lifecycle of internal applications: building, hosting, monitoring, maintaining, and retiring tools as needed
• Set up evaluation systems for LLM outputs, including building regression testing pipelines and quality controls
• Partner with colleagues to elevate pilot projects into production-ready systems while growing their technical skills
• Map complex operational workflows before building solutions, ensuring your work addresses root problems without creating downstream issues

What We're Looking For

Required Experience and Skills:

• Proven experience building, hosting, and maintaining production applications and tools
• Strong coding skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages
• Deep experience working with REST APIs and building connectors between SaaS platforms
• Hands-on experience with LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph
• Understanding of RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, DAG vs linear flows, and human-in-the-loop systems
• Experience setting up evals for LLM outputs and building systems that grade and test AI responses
• Platform thinking: ability to design reusable templates, abstractions, and deployment patterns
• Strong systems thinking and process orientation with ability to map complex operational workflows
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills; ability to work with non-technical stakeholders and teach others
• Self-starter who thrives in agile environments and can work autonomously
• Demonstrated passion for AI tools and automation (early adopter mindset)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience building custom apps or integrations for Freshdesk, Zendesk, Jira, or similar ticketing systems
• Background working in or building tools for Customer Support, Success, or Onboarding teams
• Experience integrating with knowledge base platforms
• Track record of taking automation projects from concept to deployment in large organizations
• Experience building internal platforms or developer tools for self-service use
• Experience with monitoring and observability for AI systems in production

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $140,000 - $160,000 per year, plus additional variable annual bonus and equity grant eligibility.
