Software Engineer, Content Platform

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential social technology organization in their search for a Software Engineer to join their Content Platform team. This is a remote-friendly position based in the USA.

Our client operates one of the internet's largest content platforms, and this role sits within their Infrastructure organization. You'll be working on Tier-0 services and core data models that power critical user experiences—viewing feeds, posting, commenting, and voting. This is a high-impact position where you'll build and maintain scalable platform services that enable product teams across the organization to deliver user value.

Responsibilities

• Design, write, and deliver software primarily in Go (with some Python) to improve availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of platform products
• Work within a suite of Go services and contribute to a large-scale Python legacy codebase
• Implement system-level improvements, enhancements, and complex code modifications
• Identify and address gaps in the current platform; help evolve architecture for future growth
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization and actively solicit customer feedback
• Share on-call responsibilities with teammates and support monitoring/alerting systems to improve reliability and performance
• Continuously develop your technical abilities and soft skills

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of software engineering experience in production environments writing clean, maintainable, well-tested code
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience
• Proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Golang, Python, C++, or Java
• Experience working with databases like Cassandra, Postgres, or Redis
• Hands-on experience with modern cloud-based infrastructure including Kubernetes, gRPC, and AWS/GCP
• Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset for working with cross-functional teams
• Prior experience with high-scale platform services and API design is a plus
