Copywriter – Germany

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential e-commerce client in their search for a German Copywriter based in Germany. This role combines creative writing with AI-enhanced workflows to deliver localized content across marketing and product channels for a direct-to-consumer retail brand.

You'll work at the intersection of brand storytelling, conversion optimization, and technology—writing and quality-assuring copy that resonates with German-speaking audiences across paid social, email, SMS, web, and product surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Write concise, compelling German copy for marketing materials including paid social ads, email, push notifications, SMS, and print to drive click-through and conversion rates
• Collaborate with video editors, graphic designers, and creative teams to translate and quality-audit all creative assets for accuracy and brand alignment
• Partner with paid search teams to develop SEM-optimized copy that maximizes CTR and conversions
• Work alongside merchandising and engineering to ensure all website and app copy—homepage, product pages, collection pages—is localized and error-free
• Localize 50–100 assets per week including weekly product launches, promotional campaigns, and seasonal content calendars
• Leverage AI tools (ChatGPT, Grammarly, translation platforms) to enhance efficiency and maintain brand-aligned translations at scale
• Adapt copy to reflect a minimal, elevated, friendly, and conversion-focused tone
• Collaborate with SEO teams to create search-optimized content that improves online visibility
• Partner with customer service to consolidate feedback and learnings from German-speaking customers
• Maintain brand tone consistency across all German content and monitor competitor copy trends
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

What We're Looking For

• 3–5 years of German copywriting experience, ideally with fashion, home, lifestyle, or e-commerce brands
• Deep understanding of German language and local cultural nuances
• Strong grasp of conversion-focused writing and brand voice development
• SEM copywriting background is a plus
• Experience with localization platforms (e.g., Smartling) and marketing automation tools (e.g., Iterable) is a plus
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Ability to juggle multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and maintain quality standards
• Collaborative mindset with ability to work cross-functionally across creative, product, and marketing teams
