Technical Product Manager – AI Finance App

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization expanding their AI-powered consumer finance platform. Our talent team is seeking a Technical Product Manager to own a critical product vertical end-to-end, working at the intersection of complex money movement, regulatory compliance, and applied AI.

This is a hybrid role based in the United Kingdom, requiring on-site presence at least three days per week.

Responsibilities

• Own a complete product vertical including outcomes, metrics, prioritized backlog by value/risk/dependency, and clear acceptance criteria
• Shape technical design with engineering teams covering system boundaries, money-movement correctness (idempotency, ledgering, reconciliation), third-party integration reliability, and failure/retry/refund flows
• Make and defend hard trade-offs across correctness, speed, cost, reliability, and user experience when challenged by engineering, compliance, or operations stakeholders
• Integrate regulated constraints as first-class product inputs including licensing scope, KYC/CDD requirements, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, and data privacy
• Define AI application boundaries, decision authority, human-in-loop requirements, evaluation frameworks, and uncertainty handling protocols
• Manage feature launches against external dependencies, building feature-complete behind flags and releasing per partner and regulatory clearance
• Coordinate across Engineering, Design, Compliance, Operations, Treasury, and Finance teams

What We're Looking For

• Significant experience owning complex technical products end-to-end with demonstrated product leadership
• Strong judgment and decisiveness under ambiguity; ability to balance ambition against technical, regulatory, and operational constraints
• Solid system design foundation including boundaries, datastores, queues/workflows, APIs, failure modes, and consistency under concurrency
• Comfort reading, reviewing, and challenging technical design documents; ability to sketch architecture and sequence diagrams
• Experience in regulated or high-consequence domains such as payments, banking, remittance, or insurance
• Understanding of why money movement requires correctness over convenience and managing irreversible states
• Hands-on experience with LLM-based products and ability to frame features as evaluable with offline/online/human feedback metrics
• Realistic approach to hallucination, drift, data gaps, and knowing when models must not be decision-making
• Strong English communication skills for global team collaboration

Valued but not required: engineering or highly technical PM background, zero-to-one product experience, shipped AI-heavy consumer products, defined evaluation metrics for ML/LLM systems, AI UX and failure-handling intuition.
