People Partner – Engineering, Product, Design (EPD)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI technology company in their search for an experienced People Partner to support their Engineering, Product, and Design organization. This is a strategic role for someone who thrives in fast-paced, technical environments and can operate as both a trusted advisor and hands-on operator.

The position is based in London and requires in-office presence. You'll partner directly with technical leadership on organizational design, talent planning, performance management, and employee relations as the company scales rapidly across multiple European locations.

Responsibilities

• Act as strategic People Partner to Engineering, Product, and Design leaders, advising on team structure, talent density, retention strategy, and organizational effectiveness
• Drive workforce planning initiatives including headcount strategy, reporting structures, role definitions, and contractor models in partnership with Finance and Operations
• Own quarterly performance review cycles end-to-end, including manager preparation, calibration sessions, performance categorization, and follow-through on action items
• Identify retention risks and team patterns through qualitative insights and people data; translate findings into practical interventions
• Manage complex employee relations matters including performance improvement plans, investigations, resignations, and terminations in collaboration with Legal
• Coach technical leaders through difficult conversations, organizational changes, feedback delivery, and moments requiring clarity and accountability
• Design and execute scalable People programs tailored to technical teams, including manager enablement, career frameworks, leveling consistency, and change management
• Experiment with AI-enabled workflows to improve People operations velocity while maintaining a human-first approach

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years as an HRBP or People Partner, with substantial experience supporting Engineering, Product, Design, or similar technical functions
• Background at an AI-native, developer tools, product-led, or high-growth technology company strongly preferred
• Strong business acumen with ability to connect people decisions to product velocity, company priorities, and team performance
• Proven expertise managing sensitive employee relations situations including performance issues, conduct matters, and terminations
• Comfortable delivering candid feedback to senior technical leaders while maintaining trust and discretion
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments where structure and processes are still evolving
• Fluent English required for all business communication
