Customs Associate

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential global logistics organization that is experiencing significant growth and seeking a skilled Customs Associate to join their operations team. This is a fully remote position open to candidates anywhere in the world, offering the opportunity to play a vital role in facilitating international trade compliance.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth movement of goods into Canada by executing customs clearance processes for high-profile clients. You'll work directly with customs documentation, regulatory compliance, and client support, contributing to streamlined global trade operations.

Responsibilities

• Create and submit customs entries for client shipments
• Digitally prepare and submit all documentation required for goods clearance with CBSA
• Maintain current knowledge of CBSA regulations and Participating Government Agency (PGA) procedures
• Review and organize incoming documents to ensure compliance with reporting requirements
• Provide exceptional customer service support to clients throughout the customs clearance process
• Follow global customs laws, regulations, and trade agreements to ensure import/export compliance
• Participate in ongoing training programs to stay current on customs regulations and industry practices
• Work flexible shifts as required by operational needs

What We're Looking For

• CCS Designation (Canadian Customs Specialist) required
• Strong understanding of CARM (CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management)
• Previous experience in international trade and customs regulations (required)
• Familiarity with CBSA product classification and rulings
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Proficiency with G Suite applications and general computer skills
• Client-focused mindset with commitment to exceptional service
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment
• Strong work ethic with commitment to accuracy and compliance
• Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving customs practices and regulations
• "Compliance first" attitude appropriate for working in a heavily regulated industry
