eFinance Plus is hiring a Custodian II to maintain Bonsai Elementary School in Shawnee, Johnson County. This full-time position offers an hourly rate of $9.00 to $15.00 and plays a vital role in keeping our school facilities clean, safe, and conducive to learning.
What This Role Involves
As a Custodian II, you'll be responsible for the daily upkeep and maintenance of school facilities. Your work directly impacts the health, safety, and comfort of students and staff, creating the foundation for a productive educational environment at our Shawnee location.
Core Duties
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas
- Operate and maintain commercial cleaning equipment safely and effectively
- Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the facility
- Perform floor care, including sweeping, mopping, stripping, and buffering
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report shortages promptly
- Address spill cleanup and odor control needs immediately
- Support special cleaning projects and facility maintenance requests
- Work flexibly with school staff to accommodate schedules and special events
What We're Looking For
- Ability to perform physical labor including standing for extended periods, lifting, and repetitive movements
- Strong dependability, attention to detail, and commitment to safety
- Experience with commercial cleaning equipment or similar facility maintenance work (preferred)
- Knowledge of proper use of cleaning chemicals and protective equipment
- Excellent attendance record and punctuality
- Ability to take direction and work collaboratively with school staff and team members
- Prior custodial or facility maintenance experience valued
