Cobble Hill LifeCare is hiring a Maintenance Director to lead all facility maintenance and building operations at our Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn location. This full-time position manages plant systems, infrastructure, and preventive maintenance programs that keep our senior care community safe, functional, and compliant.
About the Role
As Maintenance Director at this skilled nursing facility, you'll direct day-to-day and long-term maintenance operations. You'll supervise maintenance staff, coordinate repairs and upgrades, and ensure systems meet regulatory standards for resident safety and comfort.
What You'll Do
- Lead and schedule maintenance and engineering staff to address facility needs
- Oversee plant operations including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and emergency systems
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life
- Ensure compliance with nursing home regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards
- Manage maintenance budgets and procure equipment, materials, and contractor services
- Respond to emergency situations and coordinate urgent repairs
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance
- Coordinate with administration and department heads to prioritize facility needs
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Director, Plant Manager, or similar leadership role in healthcare, hospitality, or facility management
- Strong knowledge of building systems, mechanical equipment, and HVAC/electrical/plumbing principles
- Familiarity with nursing home regulations and compliance requirements
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Ability to lead and motivate a maintenance team
- Proactive problem-solving and attention to detail
- Valid driver's license
