About the Role
As part of our Interim Housing program, you'll serve as a Safety Support Associate, ensuring our facilities remain secure and welcoming spaces for the individuals and families we serve. Your proactive presence and strong communication skills will help participants feel safe while maintaining facility integrity. You'll work Sunday, Monday, Friday, and Saturday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
What You'll Do
- Monitor interim housing facilities and grounds through regular rounds, documenting any maintenance issues or safety concerns
- Build positive relationships with participants and engage them in maintaining a safe community environment
- Apply de-escalation and verbal crisis intervention techniques when needed, working collaboratively with case management and supervisory staff
- Maintain regular communication with onsite case managers and contracted security partners to coordinate safety efforts
- Contribute to written documentation, incident reports, and correspondence related to site safety and operations
- Participate in team meetings and provide input on security protocols, procedures, and policy implementation
- Support the development of safety manuals, forms, and operational guidelines for our Metro LA interim housing programs

Above all, you maintain high ethical standards, integrity, and professional boundaries in every situation.
Preferred Qualifications: One year of experience working with vulnerable or at-risk populations, in security roles, or with de-escalation and nonviolent crisis intervention.
Minimum Qualifications: All levels of experience and education are welcome.
Requirements: You must be authorized to work in the United States—we cannot sponsor visas. You'll obtain CPR and First Aid certification at no cost. You're able to work flexible evening and weekend hours, complete a thorough background screening (which may include LAX, Veterans Affairs, or Sheriff clearance depending on contract requirements), pass a drug test, and provide an updated tuberculosis test. All work is performed in California.

Compensation and Benefits
This part-time position offers competitive hourly pay of $21.71 to $26.36 per hour, with 24 pay periods annually.
