Part-Time Building Security Officer

Delta Center is seeking a Part-Time Building Security Officer to join its team in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County.

In this role you will help maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, staff, and performers at a venue that hosts Utah Jazz games, Utah Mammoth matches, concerts, and other live events.

About the Role

The Part-Time Building Security Officer works closely with event staff, venue management, and local authorities to ensure the safety of everyone inside the Delta Center.

What You'll Do

• Patrol interior and exterior areas of the Delta Center to deter and detect security concerns.
• Monitor surveillance systems and alarm panels, reporting any irregularities to supervisory staff.
• Control access points, checking credentials of employees, vendors, and attendees.
• Respond promptly to disturbances, medical emergencies, or safety hazards following established procedures.
• Assist guests with directions, lost items, and general inquiries while maintaining a courteous demeanor.
• Document incidents in clear, accurate reports for management and law enforcement when needed.
• Support event staff during high‑attendance shows such as Utah Jazz games, Utah Mammoth matches, and concerts.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional security training or certifications preferred.
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related public‑safety role is a plus.
• Strong observation skills and the ability to remain alert during varying shifts.
• Effective communication abilities for interacting with diverse crowds and coordinating with team members.
• Basic knowledge of emergency response protocols and first‑aid/CPR willingness to learn.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a professional attitude suited to a part‑time schedule.
• Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift moderate weights for extended periods.
