Serco is hiring an Operations SME – Langley AFB, VA to support the Combat Air Forces Distributed Training Center in Anacortes, Skagit County.

About the Role

This full‑time position works closely with Air Combat Command to deliver advanced training scenarios for fighter pilots and weapon systems officers. The incumbent provides subject‑matter expertise that shapes realistic, large‑force and small‑team exercises in a virtual battlespace environment.

What You'll Do

• Design and validate distributed training missions that replicate current and emerging threat profiles.
• Serve as the primary advisor on tactics, techniques, and procedures for fighter aircraft operations.
• Coordinate with simulation engineers to ensure scenario fidelity meets CAF DTC standards.
• Conduct after‑action reviews and provide actionable feedback to participating units.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of USAF combat aviation doctrine and evolving aircraft capabilities.
• Assist in the development of training curricula and evaluation metrics for distributed exercises.

What We're Looking For

• Former fighter pilot, weapon systems officer (WSO), combat systems officer (CSO), or naval flight officer (NFO) with operational flight experience.
• Deep understanding of large‑force employment, air‑to‑air and air‑to‑ground tactics.
• Proven ability to translate real‑world combat experience into effective simulation‑based training.
• Strong communication skills for briefing diverse audiences and writing clear after‑action reports.
• Familiarity with distributed mission training concepts and virtual simulation environments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearances for CAF DTC support.
• Willingness to work a standard full‑time schedule with occasional travel to support training events.
