Robbinsdale Area Schools is hiring a Head Night Custodian for the School of Engineering and Arts (SEA) elementary campus. This full-time position offers evening shift hours (2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.) and is available to start as soon as possible.
About the Role
As Head Night Custodian at the School of Engineering and Arts, you'll lead evening operations and maintain our facility to the highest standards. Working a full-time schedule of 8.5 hours per day—8 hours paid work time plus 30 minutes unpaid dinner—you'll ensure every classroom, hallway, and common area is clean, safe, and ready for tomorrow's students and staff.
What You'll Do
- Oversee custodial and maintenance operations throughout the School of Engineering and Arts facility during evening hours
- Clean, sanitize, and organize classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces daily
- Manage floor care, trash removal, and general building maintenance
- Supervise custodial team members and coordinate evening shift responsibilities
- Identify and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and needed repairs to administration
- Secure the building and ensure all areas are properly locked at end of shift
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated experience in custodial or building maintenance leadership, ideally in a school or institutional setting
- Strong technical knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment operation, and facility maintenance
- Ability to work independently and manage a team during evening operations
- Physical capability to lift, bend, and perform active cleaning and maintenance work throughout your shift
- Reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to a clean learning environment
- Clear communication and problem-solving skills
