Operations SME – Langley AFB, VA

Serco is hiring a full-time Operations SME to support Air Combat Command's Combat Air Forces Distributed Training Center (CAF DTC) at Langley AFB, VA. This on-site role is ideal for a former Fighter Pilot, WSO, CSO, or NFO ready to bring operational expertise to one of the most advanced virtual training environments in the United States Air Force.

About the Role

As an Operations SME with Serco, you will serve as a trusted subject-matter expert within the CAF DTC, where combat units from across the globe sharpen their skills every day. The center delivers high-fidelity integration training in both large-force and small-team formats, pitting warfighters against today's most sophisticated simulated threats inside an expansive virtual battlespace. This is a full-time, on-location position; the role is not remote.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply hands-on combat aviation experience to design and refine realistic, threat-representative training scenarios.
• Support both large-force exercises and focused small-team mission sets for visiting combat units.
• Provide operational guidance and tactical insight throughout distributed training events.
• Help advance integration training that prepares aircrews to operate against advanced, evolving adversary capabilities.
• Contribute aircrew perspective to the continued growth and effectiveness of the CAF DTC's virtual battlespace.

Qualifications

• Prior service as a Fighter Pilot, Weapon Systems Officer (WSO), Combat Systems Officer (CSO), or Naval Flight Officer (NFO).
• Demonstrated operational and tactical experience within combat air forces.
• Strong understanding of integration training concepts across large-force and small-team formats.
• Ability to work on-site full-time in support of Air Combat Command at Langley AFB, VA.
