About the Role
As the Boys Varsity Head Tennis Coach at West Senior High School, you'll lead a comprehensive tennis program committed to athletic development and personal growth. Reporting to the Athletic Director, you'll oversee all aspects of the varsity tennis season, from practice planning and skill development to match competition and team management. This role requires dedication to fostering discipline, sportsmanship, and self-esteem in each student-athlete you coach.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement effective practice sessions focused on technical tennis skills and tactical game understanding
- Lead varsity boys tennis matches and tournaments, making strategic decisions that maximize team and individual performance
- Build a culture of discipline, respect, and sportsmanship throughout the season
- Evaluate athletic talent and recruit student-athletes to strengthen the varsity roster
- Monitor and support the academic eligibility and overall welfare of team members
- Communicate regularly with parents, administration, and school staff regarding program progress and student-athlete development
- Manage equipment, facilities, and logistical needs of the boys tennis program
